MASA Meeting

The Malaysian Student Association had their first general meeting this afternoon! Our President, Tabitha, had gathered all the committee members at Eaton Hall's Library to discuss some of the upcoming events to be held. Here are some of the events planned out :-

• DeepaRaya. Since Eid adil-Adha (4th October) and Diwali (23rd October) will be celebrated within the same month, we decided to merge these two celebrations together into one, hence DeepaRaya! We will be gathering all the Malaysian students for a pot-luck evening day together at Meadowbrook Apartments. There will hopefully be Nasi Lemak, Ayam Kari, and Mee Sup!

• Thanksgiving Gathering. Thanksgiving Day is one of the most festive celebrations here in the USA and it is considered as a day of giving thanks in return for all of the blessings received from the past year. So in holiday traditions, we will be having a gathering and a pot luck for this day! Definitely will be having some turkey *gobble gobble*!

• Snowball Fight. Since Kansas has been known to have severe snow days once in a while in Winter, we would for sure be having snow days (classes are cancelled). So we decided to take up this opportunity to spend time on campus and have lots of winter fun together!

We'll try our best to make sure that these events do take place and through this, we get to strengthen the bond between club members.
